Casey Jones and I have been talking about this for months, technically years. We were a year too early last year, but this year, it’s really starting to feel like this is the big year of change for the NFL.
Already, we’ve seen a flurry of different QBs go down or get replaced for different reasons. We can start with Luck, then Foles, Brees, Big Ben, Eli, Darnold, Fitzmagic, SuperCam…am I forgetting anyone? Trevor Siemian even got a start for half a game before the football gods laughed again at the hapless Jets.

Seriously, what are the chances that players like Patty Mahomes and Kyler Murray end up retiring before Brady? Would you really be surprised at this point if the Evil Empire doesn’t reign supreme for another generation?
There are people who don’t even remember the Pats as a joke of a franchise in the 80’s and 90’s.
And from the ashes of the old regime, we see some forgotten friends rising the ranks. The 9ers and the Cowboys could both be 3-0. The last time both of these storied franchises started 3-0? The 1995 season.
Oh, and Miami isn’t even trying to pretend anymore. It’s a straight dumpster fire, perhaps the biggest and brightest ever seen. Other dumpster fires at least teams are trying to put them out. The Dolphins front office keeps pouring on the gas!
