Last week, with 4 teams on bye, we felt the sting in the running game. This week, it’s the Bills, Rams, Vikings, and Eagles, which by and large just screams receivers…and in that light, quarterbacks as well.
But we’ve been needing QBs all season, ever since Dak broke his thumb and let Cooper Rush win the easy games on the schedule. This week, Dak should be back, as should be Tua…for better or worse.
Then there’s the weird rumblings in the trade world for running backs, as both Run CMC and Akers seem to be ready to move teams…and that’s not counting Robbie Anderson, who got himself shipped over to the Cardinals after one little fight with his new coach. Cards also get DHop back this week, but in typical fashion, have probably lost Hollywood Brown for the season.
That said, let’s slip back into the Waiver Wire to see what’s left in Week 7…
Only players owned in less than 50% of Yahoo! leagues make the list.
QBs
Marcus Mariota — 15% owned
Mariota almost made my list last week, but the one dud against Cleveland had me concerned enough not to list him just to list him. Now I’m starting to think he’s a must-have, at least for a bench stash in a season where so far, star QBs have underperformed.
For instance, Herbert is only 8 points ahead of Mariota right now in standard scoring. Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, Derek Carr, and Aaron Rodgers are all behind on the list. That, and Mariota has those wheels that Atlanta isn’t afraid to use, especially with their running game on IR right now.
Daniel Jones — 30% owned
This is more an honorable mention/bench stash. The Giants are freaking 5-1, and Jones has receivers go down left and right. Some of them are gone for the season, but if he gets some weapons back, and the Giants are still in it later in the season, Jones might be a guy that wins you your fantasy playoffs.
That’s enough Kool-aid…
RBs
Deon Jackson — 42% owned
If he’s still available, grab him up. As long as J. Taylor is out, Jackson is the guy you want to have on your roster. And don’t worry about his getting banged up at the end of Sunday’s match-up. He’ll be fine for next week.
Latavius Murray — 15% owned
If you watched the game last night, you saw a frustrated Melvin Gordon III on the sideline as Murray got the bulk of the carries. I don’t know why it took Denver until after Javonte Williams was hurt for the season to figure this out, but they have, and because of it, Murray could be the waiver wire steal of the season.
Kenyan Drake — 6% owned
It may just be a flash in the pan last week, but with Dobbins going down again, the Ravens finally leaned on Drake and he delivered. Will this continue? How long will Dobbins be out this time? It’s hard to say on either, but if you have a spot on the bench, Drake is worth a stash.
WRs
Alex Pierce — 39% owned
The last few weeks, Pierce has seen more and more action as he’s become the #2 guy behind Pittman in the receiving game as Matty Ice is looking more and more comfortable playing with the Colts.
Josh Reynolds — 33% owned
The Lions has largely been in every game this season, and have put up some major points, yet the only WR on the team anyone seems to own is the Sun God. Reynolds should be a great addition, especially if you need a point hungry receiver with some of yours on bye.
Wan’Dale Robinson — 8% owned
We already talked about how Danny Dimes is just waiting to get some weapons back, and one of those weapons in Robinson returned last week and grabbed a TD in his return. There should be more action for Robinson going forward as the Giants look to stay competitive.
Robbie Anderson — 13% owned
With Hollywood Brown going down and no clue what DHop is going to look like in his first game back, this is the kind of situation that Anderson flourishes at, putting up a 20 point game when you least expect it. Is that definitely going to be the case? Probably not. But I can already envision Kyler unloading 50 yard bombs Anderson’s way…now does he catch it…
TEs
Robert Tonyan — 43%
We can’t tell you what’s going on over in Green Bay…#FreeAaronJones…but Randall Cobb did go down, and Lord knows the only person Rodgers might trust throwing the ball to now is Tonyan.
Why is this so hard for Matt LaFleur to figure out? Free Aaron Jones and hit Tonyan on play action, and good things will happen. We promise!
Daniel Bellinger — 3% owned
Danny Dimes is going to be throwing the ball to someone, and our other bet going forward is Bellinger. He’s stepped up the last two games and looks to be a reliable target. If you need TE help, he’s a better shot in the bucket than most, and the rookie can really only go up at this point.
