Waiver Wire Week 13: You Still in this Game, A-A-Ron?

I have less hair now too, but this is what I look like.

I took last week off because it was Thanksgiving, no teams were on bye, and I was drowning in grading.

Legit, they should make you talk to someone before you major in English in college, let alone go on to teach, but I digress…

This week with the Cardinals and Panthers on bye, you’re probably majorly looking for some running back fill-ins more than anything else. Maybe a wide-out.

Oh, and if you were still playing Rodgers…guess you might need a new QB!

So let’s once again go waiver wire diving to see if there’s anything worth putting on your roster.

As always, only players owned in less than 50% of Yahoo! leagues make the list.

QBs

Mike White — 5% owned

Look, unless you’ve got a stud at QB, you should be grabbing Mike White. Right now, I’d take White over Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers(is he done?), Stafford…maybe even Kyler Murray.

Maybe it was a one game flash in the pan, but the Jets receiving corps is good enough that that flash should be enough at least to put him in a roster spot, even if you aren’t ready to start him in front of Brady.

If nothing else, gamesmanship, you should grab him just because if you have an open spot.

Jordan Love — 1% owned

Just about everything I just said about White goes for Love minus the receiving corps.

That, and whether or not Rodgers wants to play the season out just to spite the kid and the organization.

Which is very likely.

RBs

Melvin Gordon III — 46% owned

Not even in a jersey on the interwebs yet! I should have paid someone on Fiverr to photoshop it for us.

This won’t do you any good for this week, and it may not at all, but Gordon just got picked up by the Chiefs. Right now, the Chiefs don’t have a number one guy, though Pacheco has been getting a load of work lately with CEH going on IR.

Gordon needed out of Denver, that much was true from the start of the season. Hell, everyone probably wants out of Denver now. Gordon probably looks at it as a blessing…and he could be the RB1 in KC in no time.

Nyheim Hines — 44% owned

Look, there’s literally no one else, but we’re banking on Hines breaking out eventually. The Bills traded for him for a reason, and they can’t rely on Josh Allen’s legs all season or they’ll be sunk by the playoffs. Of course, they might have just signed Hines to light a fire under…

James Cook — 25% owned

This was the James Cook that came up first, so, still a little ways to go to establish yourself as more than Dalvin’s little brother.

Probably not. The only reason to have James Cook is probably dynasty, but he has been the pass catching back.

The bottom-line is that Singletary isn’t a 3-down back. He’s really a 3rd down back more than anything, so we’re just waiting for one of these speedsters to step up! That, or Josh Allen might not make it to the playoffs.

WRs

Zay Jones — 26% owned

Like with Fields a few weeks ago, we’re seeing T. Law finally blossom before our eyes. That game winning drive last week against Baltimore was huge, and Jones at the same time has emerged as a reliable weapon for him.

This may just be that Kirk is seeing the most attention and it’ll level off as teams go back to more equal coverage, but right now, T. Law and Jones are giving them a reason to.

Zay Jones looks good on your fantasy team.

Elijah Moore — 26% owned

If you believe in Mike White for the Jets, then believe in Moore, who, if he gets his head back into the game, should be his WR1 going forward.

If you don’t…then may I re-recommend…

DeAndre Carter — 23% owned

Look, as long as Mike Williams and/or Keenan Allen is out, Carter is a play for the Chargers. He’s put up double digits 3 of the past 4 weeks, with two of those weeks topping 15 points. He’s becoming a reliable weapon for Justin Herbert on a team that hasn’t had reliable and healthy receivers all season. He could easily be working as your WR3/Flex.

TEs

Foster Moreau — 39% owned

This might be a one week rental at this point with Darren Waller scheduled to be back in Week 14, but even then, who knows? The Raiders are in complete turmoil, but they won last week, so everyone is happy for a minute.

Carr gets the ball to the TE. It’s his second favorite target outside of Adams.

If you need a TE with a high floor, ride Moreau for at least one more week.

Juwan Johnson — 47% owned

Before putting up a goose egg last week in that awful game against the 9ers, Johnson had put up double digits in 4 of the last 5 games.

In a season where it’s hard to find TE production, Johnson might be your guy. And he just had his bad week, so go get him now!

And that’s it! We’re scrapping!

Week 14 we might end this thing with Defense. We’ll see!
